Megan Dickson is a board-certified genetic counsellor (ABGC) and Instructor in the Department of Medical Genetics at the University of Toronto. She earned her Master of Science in Genetic Counselling from the University of Toronto in 2022, following the completion of a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences in 2019.

Following graduation, Megan joined the Division of Clinical and Metabolic Genetics at The Hospital for Sick Children, where she works closely with the inpatient genetics and metabolics consult teams. In 2025, she was cross-appointed to the Division of Neurology, where she also provides care in the Neuromuscular Program.

In addition to her clinical work, Megan is deeply engaged in the education and mentorship of genetic counselling students. She delivers a range of guest lectures within the graduate program, covering topics such as genetics of liver disease, delivering difficult news, counselling in an inpatient setting, and transitioning to the workplace. Throughout the academic year, she supervises students in clinical settings and co-leads “walk rounds,” offering students exposure to complex inpatient cases. Megan also contributes to the broader teaching environment at the University of Toronto, serving as an OSCE evaluator and as a member of the CaRMS selection committee for the Medical Genetics Residency Program.

In recognition of her commitment to education and mentorship, Megan was awarded the Cheryl Shuman Award for Teaching Excellence in 2025.
