Biography

Laura is a Canadian Certified Genetic Counsellor at the Bhalwani Familial Cancer Clinic at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. She earned her MSc in Genetic and Genomic Counselling from Cardiff University in 2021. Laura’s academic and clinical interests include early cancer detection, genetic counselling outcomes, innovative models of genetic testing to expand access, and equity in service delivery. 

She currently serves as Chair of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Committee for the Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors, where she leads national initiatives to promote inclusive practices in genetics. At the University of Toronto, Laura is actively involved in the supervision and mentorship of genetic counselling students, medical residents, and global cancer fellows. She also contributes to the field through research, education, and peer review activities.
