BIOSKETCH:
My teaching experience began in 2014 when I was a TA for two different second-year undergraduate courses. I was responsible for teaching concepts, guiding the students through problem sets, and leading lab sessions. I have almost four years of experience teaching the Tutorial in Molecular Genetics course for the MSc. Program in Genetic Counselling. Through teaching I have developed my oral communication and listening skills. My clinical experience in a wide range of subspecialties and general genetics has given me the expertise to help genetic counselling students apply what they learn in our course to their clinical practice. As a clinical supervisor for the MSc. Program in Genetic Counselling I have developed mentoring skills and have learned how to give effective feedback, which is a large part of our course and genetic counsellor education. I plan to continue to develop my teaching skills by participating in the annual faculty development session run by the University of Toronto MSc. Program in Genetic Counselling.
