BIOSKETCH: 

Cheryl Cytrynbaum , MS, CGC, received a Master of Science in Medical Genetics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1990 , following which she worked in the Genetics and Metabolic Program at McMaster  Children’s Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario.  She was certified in Genetic Counselling by the American Board of Medical Genetics in 1990. She joined the Division of Clinical and Metabolic Genetics at SickKids in 1991. Cheryl is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular Genetics and a clinical supervisor in the MSc Genetic Counselling Program at the University of Toronto.  She also holds a Project Director appointment at the SickKids Research Institute based on her involvement in clinical research (role of epigenetics as it relates to genetic syndromes; psychosocial management in 22q11 deletion syndrome) and supervision of graduate students. Cheryl’s areas of clinical specialty include overgrowth disorders and 22q11 deletion syndrome.  Cheryl is a member of the Canadian Association of Genetics Counsellors (CAGC), the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC), and the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG).
