Having Difficult Conversations (Workshop)

Location:  Mechanical Engineering Building (MC), Room 254

Host: UofT Centre for Graduate Mentorship and Supervision (CGMS) and MoGen PSME (Professional Standards in Mentorship and Education) committee

This workshop offers participants a step-by-step guide to having difficult conversations. Participants will review the reasons why we seldom have difficult or uncomfortable conversations and will be provided with a case for having them. As we lead participants through our approach to difficult conversations, we will also offer examples and suggestions for inviting, having, and capturing these conversations.

The workshop was designed for faculty members. All other members of the department are welcome to join, however for students we recommend attending the student-equivalent workshop on October 12.

The PSME committee (Professional Standards in Mentorship and Education) recommends this workshop as a unique training opportunity for all our faculty members.
