I am a Senior Scientist at the Hospital for Sick Children and an Associate Professor, Associate Graduate Coordinator and Associate Chair in the Department of Molecular Genetics at the University of Toronto. As a Canada Research Chair in Comparative Genomics and a Member of the Heart and Stroke/Richard Lewar Centre of Excellence, I lead a research group that uses genomic technologies, multi-species comparisons, bioinformatics and molecular biology to uncover gene and genome regulatory mechanisms that are relevant to developmental and disease processes. By comparing epigenetic regulation between species, we are learning about fundamental principles of vertebrate genome regulation.
