Biosketch 

Jacqueline (Jackie) Leonard obtained her Master of Science degree in Genetic Counselling from Brandeis University in 2017 and ABGC certified that same year. She also has a Masters of Science in Pathology and Molecular Medicine from Queen's University in 2016. Jackie joined the Division of Clinical Genetics at the Hospital for Sick Children in 2024, with clinical roles in Nephrology, Genetics and Cardiology as well as within the inpatient service. Prior to joining the team at SickKids, she worked at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia between 2017-2024, where she was embedded within the Individualized Medical Genetics Center (IMGC), and specialized in patients with variations of sex characteristics/intersex traits.

Jackie is actively engaged in teaching as a clinical supervisor and lecturer at the University of Toronto’s MSc Genetic Counselling program, including co-coordinating the 2nd year genetic counselling Advanced Principles of Effective Counselling course. She also delivers a range of guest lectures within the graduate program, covering topics such as genetics of kidney disease, counselling in an inpatient setting, and transitioning to the workforce.
