Introducing the 2023 MedGen Comms Team: Alyssa Choi

Alyssa is currently a second-year Engineering Student fascinated by the intersection of technology, science and creativity. Academically, she is dedicated to expanding her understanding of engineering principles, conducting research, and participating in practical projects that positively impact society. In the future, she hopes to use her knowledge to contribute to innovative solutions that address real-world challenges. 

Alyssa’s passion also includes storytelling. Whether through writing, video or other creative mediums, she believes in the power of stories to inspire and educate. Thus, she is excited and grateful for the opportunity to be one of MedGen’s Communication Assistants this summer, where she will contribute to the program’s social media and write for the website’s News page. Even as a non-life sciences student, she looks forward to spotlighting the inspiring stories of different students, alums, researchers and faculty of the Medical Genomics program! In her spare time (which she tries her best to have as an engineering student), Alyssa enjoys reading, playing guitar and spending time with friends.
