The Department of Molecular Genetics started the new school year by hosting an orientation for our incoming MSc and PhD students on September 3rd, 2024. The day began with a warm welcome from Chair Dr. Tim Hughes and Graduate Coordinator Dr. Lori Frappier, followed by sessions on Computational Biology with Dr. Gary Bader and information about resources from the Centre of Graduate Mentorship & Supervision.
The highlight of the day was the icebreaker lunch organized by the Graduate Student Association (GSA), which provided an opportunity for everyone to connect. As part of the lunch, first-year reps Jimmy and Ardalan organized an exciting lab Olympics, where teams competed for the title of lab Olympics champions.
