BIOSKETCH:

Anna Szuto received her Master of Science degree in Genetic Counselling from the Université de Montréal in 2010 and is a CBGC certified genetic counsellor. After working in adult clinical genetics and neurogenetics research in Montreal, she joined the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in 2015 where she originally served as a laboratory genetic counsellor at the Genome Diagnostics Laboratory and coordinator of the DNA resource Centre. In 2019, Anna joined the Translational Genomics node of the Precision Child Health initiative (formerly Centre for Genetic Medicine) where her work focuses on the implementation and evaluation of genomic technologies and their current and potential applications in clinical settings, as well as the impact of these applications on patients, families, and the health care system. She is actively involved in several research studies and is also a clinical genetic counsellor in the Division of Clinical and Metabolic Genetics.

Anna is a Lecturer with the Department of Medical Genetics at the University of Toronto and co-coordinates the Laboratory Skills (​MMG 1132H) and Risk Calculation (​MMG 1128Y) courses for the MSc Genetic Counselling program. Anna also delivers and facilitates inter-professional workshops to promote genomic education to clinical staff in other medical specialties.
