Bio

Brittney Johnstone, MSc, CCGC, CGC received a Master of Science in Genetic Counselling from the University of Toronto in 2014. In 2015 she was certified by the Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors (CAGC) and the American Board of Genetic Counselors (ABGC).  She has been a genetic counsellor in the Cancer Genetics & High Risk Program at the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre since 2019.  Prior to that she worked as a genetic counsellor at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and the Alberta Health Services Prenatal Genetics Clinic in Calgary. In her current role, Brittney primarily provides genetic counselling and risk assessment for families suspected of having hereditary cancer syndromes. She is involved in the University of Toronto MSc Program in Genetic Counselling as a clinical supervisor and instructor. Beyond her clinical work, Brittney has a research interest in genetic counsellor professional development and burnout.
