BIOSKETCH:

Gillian Owens (nee Blaber), MSc, CCGC, CGC, received a Master of Science in Human Genetics from Sarah Lawrence College in 2011. She was certified in genetic counselling by both the Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors, and the American Board of Genetic Counseling, in 2013. She has been a genetic counsellor at North York General Hospital (NYGH) since January of 2012. Prior to joining NYGH, she worked as a genetic counsellor at Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola, NY. Gillian specializes in prenatal genetic counselling, as well as predictive counselling for neurodegenerative genetic conditions such as Huntington Disease. She is actively involved in the University of Toronto MSc Program in Genetic Counselling in a clinical supervisory capacity.
