Jillian Murphy, MSc, CCGC, CGC, received a Master of Science degree in Genetic Counselling from the University of Toronto in 2000. Jillian maintains her academic appointment as instructor at the University of Toronto through teaching, clinical supervision/instruction and scholarly activity. In 2021 she was the recipient of the Cheryl T. Shuman Award, which is presented annually to an Allied health staff member at any UofT clinical genetics site who has demonstrated excellence in teaching and a strong interest in promoting clinical education. Jillian has worked as a genetic counsellor in adult genetics at the University Health Network (UHN) since 2007, functioning as lead in this multidisciplinary clinic since 2016. Prior to joining UHN, Jillian worked as a genetic counsellor in a variety of settings, including at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Sickkids, and the Maritime Medical Genetics Service. She has special interests in cardiac genetics and inborn errors of metabolism.
