New Phage Taxa Named For Dr. Louis Siminovitch

Dr. Lou Siminovitch, Professor Emeritus and founder of the Department, has just been honoured by the creation of a new bacteriophage genus named after him. The International Committee on the Taxonomy of Viruses has just approved the new genus, Siminovitchvirus, which contains 3 species of phage.
