BIOSKETCH:

Stacy Hewson, M.Sc, MS, CCGC, CGC, received a Master of Science degree in Biology from McGill University in 1996 and a Master of Science degree in genetic counselling from McGill University in 1998. She was certified in Genetic Counselling by the Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors in 1998 and the American Board of Genetic Counseling in 1999.  She has been a genetic counsellor in the Division of Clinical and Metabolic Genetics since August 2000. Stacy was appointed Director of the Department of Genetic Counselling at SickKids, Program Director of the MSc Program in Genetic Counselling and Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular Genetics at the University of Toronto in 2020.  She is dedicated to the academic excellence of the MSc program and the development of highly skilled genetic counsellors who are ready to enter a growing and diverse workforce.
