Thanuja Selvanayagam, MSc, CCGC, CGC is a board-certified genetic counsellor at SickKids. She completed her MSc in Genetic Counselling at the University of Toronto in 2019 and practiced as a laboratory genetic counsellor at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario prior to joining SickKids in 2020. In her current role, Thanuja is involved in research investigating the genomic architecture of autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental conditions. She reviews and interprets genomic data in collaboration with the research team, and returns results to research participants. Thanuja is a member of the Genomic Research Genetic Counsellors at SickKids, and co-coordinates the Clinical Issues in Pregnancy and Child Development course in the MSc Genetic Counselling Program at the University of Toronto. Her research interests include novel disease gene discovery, genomic technologies, and autism spectrum disorder.
